You MATTER! Understanding the Importance of Self-Care

Self-Care is extremely important in maintaining and enhancing everyday life! What is self-care? Self-care is anything you do to take care of yourself! This can include anything that can help you stay physically, mentally, and emotionally well. Self-Care are intentional actions you take to enhance health, restore energy, or maintain a positive mindset. Research shows that frequent self-care contributes to less stress. It also benefits better physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being. Research suggests self-care promotes positive health outcomes, such as fostering resilience, living longer, and becoming better equipped to manage stress. Self-care is about taking proper care of yourself and treating yourself as kindly as you treat others. Remember, self- care is a necessity! It is not a luxury. Allowing yourself time to relax, mediate, journal or simply rest is necessary to give your mind and body what it needs. Practicing self-care allows you to be the best you, you can be!
