At FCR, we value people and are thankful for such a dedicated, hard working and experienced leadership team.

Shana Carignan became FCR’s Development Director in July 2022. As a member of our Leadership Team, Shana will be working to diversify and increase our revenue for our many programs and services while expanding our network of supporters. She holds a dual bachelor’s degree in political science and women’s and gender studies and a master’s degree in public affairs with a concentration in nonprofit management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and comes with with more than fifteen years of nonprofit/fundraising experience.

Shana is a recipient of the 2014 Guilford Green Foundation Distinguished Leadership Award and the 2015 ALCU of North Carolina Sharon Thompson Award for her family’s work with the ACLU’s two successful federal lawsuits that helped topple North Carolina’s discriminatory ban on marriage equality and second-parent adoption. Shana currently serves on the board of L’Arche NC and has enjoyed several hiking trips to Colorado and Utah during the pandemic.
