Early Head Start/ Head Start has been a very good part of my children's developmental and social life. From the time each of my children started and by the time they moved on to kindergarten, they had learned so many things that helped them prepare for the next level of schooling they were going to. Their socializing, fine motor skills, language and all had improved drastically. They have an encouraging space to be themselves and interact with their age group. It really makes a difference, because they are eager to try new things if they see the other children trying something new also. The staff are very dedicated to making sure the parents’ concerns/ needs are taken care of and they make you feel comfortable voicing them without judgement. If they can't help with a specific need, they will point you in the right direction and give you resources that are helpful to you. I appreciate this organization and the people who make it possible for kids to have this learning experience.   

It is almost one year that my son started school at Head Start. My FES assisted in completing the application. Since he started my son has learned a lot, and his behavior is better. With the resources provided by my FES, my family has started the process to get legal documents to apply for what we need. This process is being done with the assistance of my FES because she helped with translation and guiding us to the next step. 

I would like to personally thank my Family Engagement Specialist and the Head Start program for accepting my granddaughter into this program. This program has not only helped introduce my granddaughter to education, but it has also helped her as well as myself. My granddaughter and her mother are homeless so my granddaughter is at my home as much as I can have her because I'm disabled. My FES and this program helped me be able to get my granddaughter into the school in my area, a great school, and my granddaughter loves her teachers as well as her FES.   

This program, through my FES, helped with clothing and shoes for my granddaughter, which she needed badly to start attending school. I received a coat in the winter for her as well.  I receive as needed, food items from the center pantry when food ran out before the month was over. This program and my FES have truly been a blessing to my granddaughter and me.

KidSCope is such a gem to the community! I am forever grateful for great programs like this one that provide child and family mental health resources to the underserved communities around the Triangle area!

My husband and I didn't grow up with positive parenting and didn't know where to begin with our kid. KidSCope's Incredible Years program helped us learn new ways of connecting with our 3-year-old and helping him be disciplined. The facilitators were so supportive and created a non-judgmental space. We loved being in class with other parents and knew we were not alone with our struggles.

KidSCope has been a game-changer for our family. I felt safe with my therapist and have been able to make real progress with my daughter. We're so grateful for the compassionate care.
